Circa 1873, 12 Bore Purdey Island Lock side by side hammergun. Barrels are Italian made (approximately 1989), lose on face 27 - 7/8" with concave game rib which reads "J. Purdey & Sons. Audley House. South Audley Street. London. England", splinter wedge forend, front bead sight and extractors. Stock is well figured and finished with evidence of breakage at wrist to 14 - 5/16" to a checkered buttplate. Island Lock hammer action with light scroll engraving and Purdey engraved on top rear of lockplate. Double triggers with blacked and scroll engraved top lever and long trigger guard. CONDITION: Action with grey patina. As noted above breakage at wrist. Italian made barrels and lose, evidence of being refurbished. CP
