This lovely rifle is one of the FN FALs imported by the Browning Arms Company between 1959 and 1963 and is listed in the ATF serial number blocks as being exempt. Left side of the receiver with correct "F.A.L. cal. 7,62" marking. Selector switch designed so that it cannot rotate to the automatic selector. "1000" stamped just above the beavertail of the pistol grip on the receiver. Right side marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE_HERSTAL BELGIQUE". Serial number just forward of magazine well. Adjustable protected post front sight, adjustable peep rear sights. Metal forend with folding bipod. Ribbed plastic carrying handle. Long flash hider. Matching serial numbers on internals. Includes three magazines in total. CONDITION: Fine overall, with some handling marks and scuffs, still retaining the majority of finish. Metal forearm has areas of silvering from where bipod folds into forearm. Distinct silver line between selector positions. Wood is very good with some compression marks, wood is proud to buttplate. Bore is excellent, bright and shiny with well defined rifling. Bolt face is excellent with some light firing residue. Mechanics are crisp. Rifle is accompanied by two additional magazines; all magazines have a small "FAL" sticker on bottom. Two magazines have cartridge counter cutouts at rear, one does not. G-Series rifles are very desirable due to their rarity, and this one is no exception. EW
