Dovetail lump barrels are fit with a brass bead front sight on a sweated on base, relieved at sides for a hood, with an express rear sight with 3 leaves, 2 folding and 1 standing, mounted to a quarter rib with matting. Folding sights are regulated for 200 and 500 yards with silver lines, fixed sight not marked for regulation, but also equipped with a thicker silver line. Right barrel is engraved "CHAs OSBORNE & CO", left barrel has "2 Gt Scotland Yard London". Barrel flats with British nitro proofs and .303 designation. Extractor and hidden third fastener. Splinter forearm with rotary barrel release, checkered in a point pattern, with light line engraved borders. Action flats with British view proofs. Case colored round body action with light line engraving, dressed with florals at the hinge pin. Nicely sculpted fences and rebounding fishform hammers with tall cocks. Back action case colored peninsula locks with "CHAs Osborne & Co" on plates. Trigger guard with serial number engraved on bottom, protecting double triggers, with a long tang that runs all the way to the grip cap. Relatively straight-grained walnut stock with pistol grip, checkered in 2 panels of point pattern checkering about the wrist, steel grip cap, and recoil pad with English style covered screws. Sling bows on studs, one on a base sweated to underside of rib, other set into toe line, fit with a leather 2 point sling. CONDITION: Good as rehabilitated. Barels with virtually all a good quality later bluing, with some areas of pitting visible under the bluing, a few heavier areas under the forearm, and random handling marks and dings throughout. Case colors are vibrant with lacquer lifting at edges. Stocks are very good, carefully sanded and revarnished, with random marks from the field en suite, and a minor repair at rear of tang. Mechanics somewhat sticky, bores are good with strong rifling and some even frosting.
