M62/S semi-automatic rifle manufactured by Valmet in Finland for commercial sales as a semi-automatic alternative to the Finnish military's RK 62 assault rifle. The left side of the receiver bears the serial number followed by the Valmet logo above "Made in Finland", with the right side bearing the model and caliber designations above a Interarms import mark. Metal components are finely milled and feature a gray phosphate finish. Additional features include a 3-prong flash hider with integral bayonet lug, RK 62 pattern front & rear sights, "cheese grater" ribbed black polymer forend, ribbed black polymer pistol grip, as well as the distinct fixed tubular buttstock. Matching numbers are present on the receiver, as well as on the left rear sight "ear". Magazine is not present. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their original factory applied phosphate finish, exhibiting some areas of discoloration and some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage that show through to silvering overall. Gas tube exhibits moderate wear that shows through to silvering. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting sharp and well defined rifling throughout. Polymer furniture is excellent overall. A desirable example of a commercially manufactured Valmet M62/S rifle, that highlights the fit and finish of Finnish produced firearms.
