This is one of only 21 Mike Sucka manufactured reduced sized reproduction Hotchkiss revolving cannons made to commemorate the 110th anniversary of this model gun in 1997. Beautiful brass and steel construction with 17 - 1/2” long five-barrel cluster mounted in a brass housing and chambered in .45-70 with a single row steel strip feed only which mounts on the top left side of the receiver housing. One steel feed channel is included. The overall length of the gun exclusive of the carriage is 21 - 1/2”. Muzzle to trail of carriage is 37” and outer hub to hub width is 26” with the wheels being 18” high. The original Hotchkiss cannon wheels were 76” high, making this a much more manageable gun to move around and display. A handsome 38” long wagon (tongue to tail) comes with this gun which incorporates a hinged storage compartment suitable for ammunition, oil, or tools. There is also a scaled down ammunition chest with handles, and a reproduction Hotchkiss manual which was formerly in the library of Dolf Goldsmith. Wheels have steel tires and contemporary metal furnishings. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent original deep lustrous blue finish with black painted metal furnishings handsomely oak wood carriage and wagon. Mechanics are crisp. Bores and bolts are unfired, and near excellent. Wood and metal furnishings are near mint with some handling marks. Just a great reproduction in a very manageable size and caliber which presents and displays very well. Will transfer as a modern firearm. JWK 2019-10-215
