Beautiful gold-plated compensator, sling swivels, charging actuator, trigger, and adjustable sight base accentuate this Korean War Commemorative 1928 Thompson manufactured in West Hurley, New York. This special commemorative honors and memorializes those who served during the Korean War. Attractively engraved American flag on right side of receiver with Thompson bullet logo and dates of the Korean conflict, and image of the Korean War memorial just to the rear of magazine well/ejection port. Medallion with the seal of the United States of America and sentiment statement honoring the U.S. victory and veterans prominently inset into the right-hand side of the pistol grip. Medallion of Korean service inset into both sides of buttstock. Left side receiver markings indicate this commemorative was issued by the American Historical Foundation of Richmond, Virginia. Gun has familiar Auto-Ordnance and model 1928 markings on receiver with bullet logo Cutts compensator. This specimen has detachable buttstock, horizontal forend and includes one unmarked high lustrous finish 20 round magazine and one “NEW YORK" 50 round drum with highly polished blued finished cover professionally engraved with serial number matching the gun, as well as “CAPT GEORGE L. YOCUM JR, INF #0-555895 CO. B 40TH INF DIV. KOREA” which personalizes this drum and firearm to this Veteran. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent original lustrous blue finish and gold plating with slight loss of finish where actuator knob rides in the receiver. There are some light handling marks to the wood. Mechanics are crisp. Extremely fine, bright bore with evidence of firing as well as a fine bolt face, also with evidence of firing. This is a select fire machine gun. This gun is a tribute to American veterans that has significantly increased in market value from its original retail price.
