Beginning production in 1921, a total of 54,000 Handy Guns were produced before the National Firearms Act in 1934. Due to their numerous (albeit small) variations, these were found to be popular firearms during their time, and are still found to be quite popular with collectors today. The case colored frame is marked "H&R HANDY-GUN" on the left side, with the Harrington & Richard two line address on the right, and "410-12m/m CHOKE" over the chamber. The frame, barrel, forend, and pistol grip are stamped "M". Matching numbers include the frame, barrel, and forend. Blued barrel measures 8" in length and has a full choke. Chamber measures 2 - 1/2". Bead front sight with notched rear sight on frame. Wood furniture consists of a smooth walnut forend and a checkered walnut saw handle pistol grip. CONDITION: Frame retains pleasing amounts of its case colored finish, showing scattered handling marks and areas of corrosion. Barrel retains most of it's factory applied blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear that are showing through to silvering and scattered handling marks. Bore is bright and shiny throughout. Walnut forend and saw handle pistol grip are very good, showing some handling marks and a few minute nicks to the checkering. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM WILL INCUR A $5.00 TRANSFER TAX IF TRANSFERRED ON AN ATF FORM 4. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 CLASSIFIED AS "ANY OTHER WEAPON". MLW
