Very nice presenting Beretta Model 38A machine gun with no manufacturer’s markings on top receiver tube. Barely discernible change to the sheen of the metal indicates they were professionally removed. Visible numbers matching on receiver and barrel shroud. One original 40 round magazine included. Small locking screws which retain main screws not present at trigger guard. No effect to serviceability. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent professional refinish with some plum color to hardened piece forward of charging handle and safety lever. Magazine well hardware and buttplate do not appear to be refinished. Non-matching numbered stock has been repaired by professionally fitting a 8" long triangular piece at the toe, pinning it in place with evidence of glue at buttplate. Slight gap between wood and buttplate at toe. Mechanics are crisp. Bore is very fine, shiny lands, lightly frosted in the grooves. Bolt is extremely fine. Wood lightly sanded with some scattered dings and handling marks. Very attractive. A wonderful World War 2 sub-machine gun, righteously considered one of the best of the World War 2 era. These guns are accurate, controllable, durable, and reliable. Selective fire gun with two triggers, one for full-auto, and the other for semi-auto fire. Several collectors this cataloger knows have stated the World War 2 Beretta 38A machine guns are the best 9mm machine guns they have ever fired. Whomever acquires this gun will certainly enjoy taking it to the range. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2020-11-001
