Seldom encountered original Curio and Relic eligible Browning 1919A4 machine gun manufactured by Saginaw Steering Gear Div. General Motors Corporation and so marked on the right side of the receiver. Large capital initials, “AAS” and “AAD” added over the original crossed cannon proofmark, indicating arsenal rebuild. Incoming NFA transfer form indicates “Unknown” in the manufacturer’s block, and does not include an overall length. This can be corrected/updated upon outgoing paper form transfer. Unmarked top .30-06 bolt within receiver. Cartridge stop in feedway as well as an aftermarket clip-on trunnion shield. Accessories include an original 1943 dated tripod manufactured by Evans Prod Co. complete with traverse and elevation mechanism. Also included is a spare extractor still new in original packaging, green canvas M13 gun cover, and reprinted War Department Technical Manual TM 9-1205 dated 7 August 1944. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent gray refinish over light pitting with a noticeable area of weld underneath the finish on the left side of the receiver forward of the rear sight base. Mechanics are crisp and positive. Bore has strong bright lands, dark in the grooves. Bolt face is fine. Tripod is great parkerized refinish over light pitting and has likely been with the gun since they were paired with each other during World War II. This is a full-automatic only machine gun. If you have been looking for a World War II C&R Browning 1919A4 machine gun that likely saw combat use, you want to look seriously at this one, as they very seldom surface for sale. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2020-05-020
