This Soviet Russian PPSh-41 machine was manufactured in 1942 by the Vyatskie Polyany factory as indicated by the star within the shield marking. This is one of the major manufacturers of this machine gun during WW2. The year of manufacture is visible directly below this marking. Visible serial numbers appear matching on upper receiver, lower assembly tang, trigger guard, and stock, and even on the right side of the bolt. One 30 round magazine is included with deeply struck non-matching serial number ending in "4521" on right side near the base. Although over 5 million of these guns were manufactured in Soviet Russia, they are a fairly scarce as a fully transferable machine gun in the National Firearms Act registry. Most probably having come into this country from Veterans who either bagged them in Germany during or after WW2, or subsequently in Korea or Viet Nam. The Germans on their Eastern front liked to use these machine guns when they could capture them for as long as there was ammunition available. They are a dependable machine gun, fire very fast, took a 71 round drum and the sound it made did not "draw" Russian return fire as readily as the German MP-40. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent as refinished. Wood stock has a neatly routed oval on the left side with the gun serial number within. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt is near excellent and in the white. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. From an American collector's perspective this gun is a welcome and somewhat difficult specimen to acquire as a Curio and Relic transferable machine gun, and every bit as iconic as any of the German machine guns out there. It was used by enemy forces across several major conflicts, and ammunition remains plentiful and available in this country. A great find ! THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO & RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 18-31.
