Exceptional condition and well accessorized American Arms manufactured American 180 .22 Long Rifle machine gun. This gun has undergone a recent tuneup by E & L Manufacturing and includes a black fabric carrying case which includes two E & L plastic pan magazines, one original 177 round steel pan magazine and two driving mechanisms which will work on on any of the included magazines. Three magazines total with one plastic loading tray. Also included is original instruction manual and loading stand instructions sheet. Detachable buttstock and horizontal forend fit very nicely with Velcro fasteners inside this case. Superficially similar to the Thompson machine gun, it incorporates a ribbed barrel, vertical foregrip, pistol grip, and detachable buttstock. Rear sight is very reminiscent of the U.S. .30 carbine. Markings are located on the left side of the receiver. There is a large knurled knob which allows for the removal of the barrel and foregrip assembly. This is a nice feature as it allows this gun to be disassembled for ease of transport in a very compact package. Cocking handle is on the left side, safety on the right side. As a consequence of having its rotating pan magazine on top of the receiver reminiscent of the Russian DP-28, the sights of this machine gun are quite high. Magazine utilizes a hand-wound spring device to rotate the drum on a steel plate which brings the rounds within the magazine in-line to feed into the gun. When these are fired, one hears the bolt and movement of the pan in steady tandum with the report of the cartridges being fired. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent deep lustrous blued finish on barrel with black hardcoat on receiver, and top cover. Feed-way block also extremely fine with some loss of finish at high edges due to use. Attractive wood with some light handling marks. Bore is extremely fine, shiny and bright. Original steel mag in extremely fine condition, as is driving mechanism. Mechanics are crisp. This is a full auto only machine gun. These are popular recreational machine guns as ammo remains relatively inexpensive and readily available. A wonderful entry level machine gun with appeal to the advanced machine gun owner as well. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4.
