Absolutely mint, new in the box Armalite AR-18 machine gun complete with two original Armalite magazines, Armalite 2.75x27mm scope, web sling and original Armalite operating and maintenance manual. Inner box has gun serial number in black marker on one end. Outer box indicates shipment directly from Armalite to a recipient address in Florida with legible cancelled postmark, indicating December 1971. The Armalite AR-18 was intended to be a refined development of the M16 and incorporates a side folding stock, adjustable rear flip-up peep sight, ambidextrous selector and ejection port cover which closes when the bolt is in the forward position. It was an early design to provide for a more compact weapon for our military forces. Overall appearance and finish, essentially mint in original box. Pretty much impossible to upgrade the condition of this specimen. Box has some wear to the high edges and some tears but is still very fine with the bonus of having an original and legible postmark. It would be hard to imagine a finer example specimen of this machine gun. A wonderful opportunity for the collector or investor.
