Acquiring the rights to Smith & Wesson's Model 76, MK Arms began production of the MK760 in 1983. While being a licensed copy of the Model 76, the MK-760 features high quality manufacturing and sturdy construction closely resembling of its predecessor. Metal components are parkerized, with the exception of the side-folding stock, grip, and magazine, which are blued. This example has been finely modified, now accepting a Carl Gustaf M/45 folding stock and having been modified at the magazine well, replacing the former magazine catch and adding a more robust catch. Either side of the magazine housing has 2 additional screws that hold the modification tightly in place. Features include an ambidextrous safety, fixed peep rear sight, fixed blade front sight, and a perforated barrel shroud. MK Arms logo is present on the right hand side, with the left side bearing "MK ARMS INC/ IRVINE, CA USA". Accompanying this example is the original stock, additional rear receiver plug, recoil spring, recoil spring guide, 2 sears and sear springs, sear pin, extractor, extractor spring, barrel nut catch pin, several cut components from the original stock, as well as 8 additional 36 round Egyptian magazines, which all bear Arabic markings. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their parkerized finish, showing some wear as well as some scattered handling and storage marks all around, with some small areas showing through to silvering. Bore is bright and exhibits well defined lands and grooves throughout. Grip is very good, showing a few minor nicks and handling marks. Magazines are good, showing varying degrees of superficial wear and all being completely functional. An intriguing and uniquely modified MK Arms MK760 machine gun, that with its accompanying accessories, will make for a fine example for one to bring to the range.
