Always popular US M1 .30 Carbine as manufactured by Postal Meter converted to full-auto M2 Carbine at some point in the past, almost certainly by the United States Government. Many M1 carbines were converted to select fire machine guns by the US government as part of their updating and rebuild program after World War II. Others were converted by civilians and registered. This is a registered receiver machine gun and retains "U.S. Carbine Cal .30 M1" on top of receiver band. Round bolt, flip-type safety, and reproduction folding stock make this a very attractive shooter’s package. 1 30-round magazine and 1 15-round magazine are included with this lot as well as 1 web sling. No upper handguard present. Bayonet, lug, and adjustable ramp type sight also indicate this carbine was part of the Government’s update program. Electronic NFA Registry indicates “unknown” as the manufacturer. Incoming ATF Form 4 indicates “Postal Meter” as manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent, combination of arsenal refinish and original finish with thinning to the bluing at the trigger guard assembly. Wood is extremely fine with some light handling marks and typical blemish to wood where folding stock contacts it. Bore is extremely fine, shiny, and bright. Bolt face also extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. These M2 carbines are always very popular. Light and handy, just the way servicemen and shooting enthusiasts like them. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4.
