RAMO registered sideplate Model 1917A1 Browning water-cooled machine gun with “RAMO NASHVILLE TN 1917A1” on bottom right ridge of right sideplate with cosmetic manufacture’s marking for “N.E. WESTINGHOUSE CO” to the rear of charging handle slot. Bolt is marked “7.62”. This gun is currently in 8mm Mauser and has a spacer in the front of the feedway for 8mm Mauser length cartridges. Clip-on feedway protector plate to protect bronze trunnion in case one desires to use metallic belt links. Tripod pintle present. No tripod in this lot. Original GI canvas carrier is included with this lot. Electronic NFA registry indicates “RAMO, INC.” as the manufacturer. PROVENANCE: From the collection of esteemed NFA firearms enthusiast and collector J. R. Moody. CONDITION: Overall finish and appearance is near excellent smooth grey parkerized refinish upon remanufacture. Bakelite handles present near excellent with typical chips out of the bottom at index studs. Bore is near excellent, shiny, and bright. Bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a full-auto-only machine gun. A very attractive looking Browning with no dents in the water jacket. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER.
