This Beretta Model 38A machine gun was manufactured in 1942, and is so dated on the top of the receiver “XX” indicates “1942”. Stock number does not match serial number. This lot includes six original 40 round magazines and, original sling, and bayonet. The Beretta 38 machine gun was one of the best 9 mm chambered machine guns of WW2, and by all accounts was reliable, accurate and controllable. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent as refinished over light scattered pitting. Bayonet blade and charging handle block are a plumb color. Wood is fine with typical dings and handling marks. Leather sling very fine. Magazines also have near excellent refinish with very minimal marks underneath the finish. Bore near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt is also near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 18-75
