Very seldom offered for public sale Auto Ordnance Model 1928 A22 Thompson machine gun in .22 Long Rifle. In response to a few vocal firearms collectors in the 1980’s Auto-Ordnance made a very limited number of these cute little Thompson guns out of aluminum and steel parts. They retained the patent dates “Auto Ordnance Corporation, West Hurley, NY" address on the right side of the receiver and just added the “A22” and “.22 LR” caliber to the left side receiver markings. The barrel exterior is aluminum with a steel liner, and the receiver is aluminum as well. This gun is true to its larger brother in appearance with detachable wooden buttstock, vertical foregrip, and Cutts compensator. This specimen includes one 30 round stick magazine. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent original anodized black finish with some handling marks. Bore is extremely fine shiny and bright. Bolt face also extremely fine. Mechanics are fine. This is a select fire machine gun. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE.
