This is a rare and unusual spring loaded chunk style wood bait in Excellent minus condition with just a bit of wear along the upper back of the wood body where the spring hook sits in the closed position. Developed and patented by George E. Pickup of Newark, Ohio, it comes with two coil spring loaded hooks that interlock at the tail and spring open upon the strike of a fish. Measures about 3” in the locked position and can be seen on pg. 226 of the Blauser /Mierzwa Fish Hooks, Traps & Lures ID & Value Guide.
