This lot is a pair of COLT manufactured consecutive serial numbered clandestine operations "Any Other Weapon" Palm pistols. These were manufactured by "Colt's Weapons Division" in 1972 and are so marked on the side of each. Model designation is "XPALMPISTOL". These were designed to fire a .38 caliber ceramic projectile electrically. Included is a contemporary Colt plastic pistol case. Essentially mint as manufactured retaining nearly all of their original matte black finish on the rectangular receiver blocks with lustrous blue finish on the barrel assemblies. Screws show some slight loss of finish. Consignor states that these were holdback specimens at Colt and that they are the only known serialized specimens of their kind in the NFA registry. Colt Factory letter is included substantiating the origin of these pieces. Others produced went overseas for "Clandestine Operations". As such they are a very interesting pieces of what could be called "Spy" history. THESE ARE NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEMS AND REQUIRE BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. Each of these items is fully transferable on an ATF form 3 or form 4 under classification of "Any Other Weapon", with each item requiring a separate transfer form.
