Absolutely beautiful suppressed British Mark 5 L34A1 Sterling machine gun. Marked in various places as manufactured by Sterling Armament, only a few of these guns made it into the country to become pre-86 dealer sample guns. Barely discernibly marked on top of suppressor with importer, “Law Enforcement Ordnance” and “Sterling, London, England” with model and serial number, as well having original factory markings on top of magazine housing STERLING SMG 9 m/m MK 5 L34A1", followed by serial number. A finely crafted and attractive wooden forearm is attached to the Suppressor which is held in place by robust Allen head screws. These items will incur two separate ATF transfer form applications for transfer, and will not be separated for separate shipment. One magazine and green web sling is included. The suppressed Sterling was designed to utilize +P (Special powerful) 9mm ammunition. L7A1 Hirtenberger and Israeli ammo with headstamp “TZ 76” has been known to work in these guns. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent original factory black pebble finish. Wood is near excellent with a sling nick on left side. This gun has been professionally disassembled, suppressor and buffer cleaned and refurbished, and test fired by Gary Szechy of Gary’s Bunker in North Royalton, Ohio. Bore is near excellent shiny and bright. Bolt face near excellent. Mechanics are fine. This is a select fire machine gun. An great and tough to find model for the modern machine gun enthusiast ! THE MACHINE GUN IS TRANSFERABLE ONLY TO ACTIVE FFL/SOT DEALERS ON AN ATF FORM 3 BUT MAY BE RETAINED BY SOLE PROPRIETOR FFL/SOT HOLDERS WHEN THEY RELINQUISH THEIR LICENSES UPON BATF APPROVAL.
