Very RARE and sought after Vickers ground tripod with adapter to mount the Lewis aircraft machine gun. Tripod is typical pre-World War II vintage with special adapter and clamp for Lewis aircraft machine gun. Very robust design. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is typical green painted steel legs with polished brass parts. Adapter base is steel with bronze post and adapting collar which rotates a full 360 degrees.
