Early Inland M1 Carbine semi automatic rifle in .30 Carbine. Made 1942 in the first serial block assigned to Inland Division of General Motors. Serial number stamped on the heel and in front of the rear sight block. Barrel is Underwood production with what looks to be a date of "3-44" all over a Ordnance flaming bomb. Inland marked rear sight. Bayonet lug/band is marked with a "D" inside a diamond. Winchester marked trigger group and slide. Rock-Ola production bolt. M2 "Pot Belly" stock with "SA" marked on the inside ledge. 2 rivet hand guard is marked "M" on the inside ledge. "AA" arsenal rebuild stamp on the left side of the stock. "P" firing proof on the wrist, in addition to a "4" rack number on the bottom of the wrist. Metal was arsenal reparkerized post-War. Stock has its original light oil finish. Includes 1 15 round, circled "B" marked magazine. CONDITION: Metal retains 85% of its arsenal re-applied finish, with general wear and handling marks. Stock has a few minor dings and scratches. Bore is very lightly frosted with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. Magazine is excellent. JWA
