Seldom found in this unusually large size, this French automaton features a bisque headed female dancer adorned in Turkish style standing atop of a red velvet covered base. The bisque head, probably by Simon & Halbig, is affixed to the paper mâché & wire armature body. When activated, the dancer will gyrate her hips in a provocative manner while turning her head and altering the positioning of her fan. Normally found in a much smaller size this larger version has additional accoutrements such as the marbleized step and ormolu fencing. Great movements and the piece appears to be in period attire.
Condition: (Very Good).
