American Arms M2 American 180 with typical markings and serial number on underside of receiver and matching barrel with horizontal foregrip. This model utilized an aluminum receiver to save on weight and this specimen has sling swivels on the side of receiver and barrel. The American 180 is considered by many to be one of the best of the .22 machine guns. Magazine system utilizes a hand-wound spring device to rotate the drum on a steel plate which brings the rounds within the mag in-line to feed into the gun. Accessories include one steel and three 275 round E & L Plastic drums, 2 drum winders, drum loading stand and loading tray. Also included are spare parts including a tall sight set, select fire trigger, feed block assembly, bolt spring, and magazine retainer & release. A cyclic rate readout from Val Cooper dated 4/13/2011 within a sealed plastic packet also is present documenting this gun was tuned up to fire well with Federal Lightning ammunition and instruction sheet. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent black anodized finish on receiver with loss of finish only at contact points for magazine latch and charging handle. Original deep lustrous blued finish on Austrian-made barrel. Black composite buttstock has tiny hairline crack at receiver. Forend has lost some of its black topcoat revealing brown composite underneath. Mechanics are crisp. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright with small ring about 4" back from the muzzle..
