This extremely rare and unusual machine gun is actually two guns joined together each with its own barrel and action which may be cocked separately and fired separately from a solitary spade handle, or they can be fired simultaneously. Originally designed to be mounted in early aircraft, it was not long until aircraft had become tough enough so that these were no longer effective in the role for which they were intended. They still made an impressive display of force could certainly take out personnel. This specimen is set-up for ground use with front mounted bipod. Two original 25 round magazines and an Italian instruction manual are included with this lot. This is an early production specimen with lever release magazine catches. This gun exhibits Old World high quality fit and finish of blued steel metal parts together with plum colored steel and brass which makes this a highly attractive early machine gun. Both right and left gun actions have proper spring tension and fire from open bolt. Separate firing actuators for each side however when safety is in safe position neither side will fire. Magazines are held in place by a rotating collar on each gun action. CONDITION: Overall finish and appearance is outstanding, over 96% lustrous blued finish with some slight chatter scruff/nicks remaining left side of right gun barrel. Mechanics are fine. Bores are extremely fine, shiny and bright with some frosting in left barrel. 9mm Glisenti ammunition can be loaded from 9mm Parabellum cases. It is noteworthy that although designed for 9mm Glisenti ammunition this gun will chamber and shoot 9mm Parabellum ammunition and people have shot standard 9mm in this model before without any mishap, no doubt due to the robust design of this gun. This cataloger can attest that this model machine gun is an extremely fun to shoot as well as being extremely rare in the NFA registry. Please note that there is a reproduction bomber pedestal mount for this gun which is being offered as a separate lot in this same auction. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO & RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2019-10-203.
