Handy and popular U.S. M-1 .30 Carbine as manufactured by Underwood converted to full-auto M-2 Carbine at some point in the past. Many M1 carbines were converted to select fire machine guns by the U.S. government as part of their updating and rebuild program after WW2. Others were converted by civilians and registered. Electronic registry shows manufacturer as “US”. This is a registered receiver machine gun, and retains "U.S. Carbine Cal .30 M1 on top of receiver band. Features include round bolt, flip-type safety and 4-rivet upper handguard. Includes one 15 round magazine and original green web sling and oiler. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is fine over 90% smooth arsenal refinish with some thinning to a grey patina at the contact points of the bolt and charging handle. Wood is fine with numerous light handling marks and no discernable cartouches. Mechanics are fine. Bore is fine shiny and bright. Bolt face is fine. This is a select fire machine gun. These M2 carbines are always very popular. Light and handy with readily available ammunition. Just a great recreational machine gun!
