Amnesty registered Russian model 1939 50mm mortar direct to Morphy’s from original registrant. Complete with bipod and base plate. Detachable sight, and sight retention knob not present. NFA registry shows manufacturer as “Russian Federation” with multiple serial numbers on base and bipod. Adjustment knob base bears multiple numbers one of which matches bipod number and is registered number with BATF. The 50 mm 1939 Russian mortar is set-up for firing at one of two different fixed angles and has an adjustable "micrometer-like" collar which rotates on the mortar tube base support shaft. As the collar is rotated it regulates the amount of propellant gas vented and adjusts the range the projectile is thrown. These mortars provided portable firepower at the tactical level and were highly effective judging by the combat accounts of German soldiers. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish very good to fine matte probably vintage refinish with wear to grey and brown patina. Bipod wooden knob present. Mechanics are functional. Bore is good with some light corrosion and pitting. A nice presentable specimen from our Russian allies during World War II. Registered live and ready to take to the range. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS A DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE. JWK 2019-10-70
