This is one of the very rare rifles imported in July of 1962 for the Santa Fe division of Golden State Arms. Marked on left side of magazine well "G3 HK 2171 // 7/62". Left side of trigger pack with "MADE IN GERMANY FOR / (Santa Fe in stylized Logo) / SANTA FE DIVISION / GOLDEN STATE ARMS CORPORATION / CALIFORNIA - U.SA. / CAL 7.62mm NATO". Numbered 171 on ejector lever, bolt, carrier, trigger pack, and rear stock. Date coded 7/62 on bolt and 8/62 on carrier. Ventilated wooden forearm. Diopter drum rear sight with "1" position as an open V-notch. Front sight is a protector post. Birdcage flash hider. Polymer grip with left side thumb shelf. Sling swivel on front, sling attachment point on left side of stock. Magazine dated 7/62. Correct style brown leather sling. CONDITION: Very good, with some handling and storage marks. Silvering on some high edges, particularly noticeable on fore and rearmost metal of forearm, magazine, and where charging handle sits in charging channel and rests. Bore is excellent, bright and shiny with sharp rifling, bolt face is excellent with some evidence of firing, mechanics are crisp. Rifle is accompanied by five additional magazines, all date marked for 7/62, three with "G3 HK", two with "G3 (Four pointed star in circle)". Magazines are good with silvering where lugs rest against magazine well and with scattered marks from use. Magazines have some patina on followers. Case is a standard black plastic Gun Guard case. Santa Fe G3s are difficult to find and this one would be a prize for any modern rifle collector or HK enthusiast. This one is offered WITHOUT RESERVE. EW
