H&R produced approximately 54,000 of these guns between 1921 and the passage of the National Firearms Act in 1934. Very popular for both home defense and the hunting of small game, it's no wonder why so many of these were produced. There are also numerous small variations, making these fun and interesting to collect. Marked with the Harrington & Richardson address on the right side of the receiver, "H&R HANDY-GUN" on the left side. Barrel is marked "410-12m/mCHOKE". Blued barrel with a case colored frame. Checkered wood grip, plain wood forend. This gun is accompanied by a correct and period original H&R Handy-Gun cardboard box with clear end label and original H&R 3-in-1 oil recommendation paper. Unfortunately, the serial number on the box does not match the serial number of this gun. CONDITION: Fine with 95% striped case colors on frame. 95%+ barrel blue. All markings are clear. Wood is excellent with minor handling marks and sharp checkering. Bore is fine. Fine mechanical function. Box has scuff marks with some tearing and separation at corners. Accompanying the box is an early factory advertisement for "3-IN-ONE" oil that recommends it be used with the Handy-Gun as well as other H&R products . While all pieces are present, the advertisement has separated at the creases and is currently in numerous parts and very fragile. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM WILL INCUR A $5.00 TRANSFER TAX IF TRANSFERRED ON AN ATF FORM 4. THIS GUN IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR FORM 4 CLASSIFIED AS "ANY OTHER WEAPON". GR
