One of three made. A beautiful .600 Nitro Express Sidelock African large game side by side rifle from Belgium maker Marcel Thys. This rifle bears 26 inch crisp chopper lump barrels with flat filed spearpoint quarter rib, express sights (one standing and two folding), ejectors, eye for sling, and a stepped up silver tipped blade foresight. Right barrel reads: "Katsenes Cie Santa Monica, Ca." Left Barrel reads: "Constantine V Deluxe". Barrel bottoms have Belgium proof marks, serial number, "MAGI" inside a circle "ALAR", 600 NITRO EXPRESS. Barrel flats has appropriate Belgium proof mark. The strong engraved bolstered .600NE action is designated with a third fastener, non-auto safety (SAFE in gold), disc set strikers and fire blued double triggers with the first being articulated. The coin finished action, frame and hardware is all engraved by the renowned Belgium engraver "Jm. Smets". The right lock plate is adorned with a Bulino style engraved walking Rhinoceros through the bush and is supported by floral scroll. Left lock is engraved with a Cape Buffalo standing in field in Bulino style with supporting floral scroll. Action bottom is handsomely engraved with a Bulino style Elephant and supporting scroll. Long trigger guard, pistol strap, steel grip cap/cap box (with spare foresight), long top strap, forend lever is also engraved with floral scroll and is stippled. Dark well figured European Walnut stock is featured with a finely checkered pistol grip, shadow line cheekpiece, drop points, eye for sling and a brown leather covered pad. Beavertail forend with sharp checkering and lever release. Oak and leather case with makers leather trade label and key. CONDITION: Excellent, near new. Barrels retain 97% blue and sharp rifling. Action is tight on face with very good ejectors. Action is clean with little to no visible signs of use. Stock and forend are near mint with the slightest of handling marks.
