It is unlikely that you have ever seen this coin-op Edison phonograph before. The Manhattan Phonograph Company of NY made the "Manhattan", as it is referred by collectors, using the mechanism of an early Edison suitcase standard. The single Manhattan, rare in its own right, have come up for auction from time to time. This example however is a double Manhattan, in essence, two singles operating back to back. Oak case construction, two phonographs, two porcelain signs marked for the Manhattan Phonograph Company, with replaced headphone apparatus for both sides. This is the rarest of coin-operated phonographs and clearly a museum piece in any phonograph collection. Condition is original, other than the headphones. The porcelain signs are original with some slight chipping at the mounting holes, but retaining good shine and color. There is a cast door to the original cash box that is off its hinges, but present. Old lock and hasp on the coin door. The phonograph operates on both sides with a coin, however both phonographs could use new needles to improve sound. Rarest of the rare! With keys.

This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made.
