The tin sign to this very early wood vending machine reads "All for 1¢, A big piece of gum, your fortune told, and a love letter from your sweetheart. Drop penny in slot and push rod". Patent pending, Chicago. This is a very scarce gum machine, and this example is a good one. With signs of use, a couple small stress cracks on the wood cabinet, and oxidation to the metal components. The image on the front shows some fading, as does the stenciled writing on the sides. Overall a great example of a seldom seen vending machine. Has keys and is working. Referenced in "Silent Salesman Too" by Bill Enes, page 145.
