High condition, mismatched numbered early original 100 round "C" drum for the Colt Model 1921 Thompson machine gun. Drum is marked "AUTO-ORDNANCE CORP, NEW YORK N.Y., U.S.A. PATENTED JULY 27 1920 DEC 7 1920 "NO 3586" on main body with cover numbered "1138". Cover number difficult to make out. Original nickel rotor inside. These early drums were contracted through John’s Machine and Stamping Works Company. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish of drum is extremely fine original matte blue finish with fine coverage with some light gray patina at the high edges. It is not uncommon to find mismatched covers. This is a fine drum for the Thompson collector. JWK 2025-05-042.
