Extremely fine condition matching serial number "217" Thompson "C" drum in correct original dull matte finish. Drum is marked "AUTO-ORDNANCE CORP, NEW YORK N.Y., U.S.A. PATENTED JULY 27 1920 DEC 7 1920 "NO 217" on main body with matching numbered cover. Original nickel rotor inside. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish of drum is extremely fine original dull blue finish with some thinning to a gray patina at the high edges with a slight ding at the 6’o’clock position of the cover. Nickel rotor and interior of drum show indications with many rings worn into the interior finish from cartridges within the drum. This cataloger likes to see this as it is an indicator of the drum functioning. A great find for the advanced and discerning Thompson machine gun collector. JWK 2025-05-043.
