Extremely fine nearly matching Japanese Type 99 light machine gun parts kit manufactured by Hitachi under the supervision of Kokura Arsenal in September of 1942. Right side of the receiver has both the Kokura arsenal and Hitachi symbols followed by serial number and date code of "17.9". The chamber of the matching barrel has been welded, and it would take more than just cleaning it out to restore it, but a competent machinist could do so. The center section of the receiver, which includes the magazine well, is not present. However, otherwise this kit contains: flash hider, barrel with retention wedge, non-matching gas regulator, cylinder, bipod, matching bolt with bolt locking wedge and locking window, ejector, ejection port cover and magazine well cover, magazine catch, ejector, charging handle, operating piston, buffer, mainspring, matching lower assembly with monopod, sear safety bar and spring, and rear sight adjustment knob with retention nut. Noteworthy is the presence of an original magazine with this gun. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine original finish, with some areas of brown patina and other areas with preservative grease. Bolt and bolt face extremely fine. Bore is extremely fine shiny and bright with damaged chamber due to welding. Wood is extremely fine to near excellent. This is an extremely fine parts Type 99 parts kit and will attract the attention of a discerning collector and/or machinist with the skill to repair the chamber of this otherwise beautiful barrel.
