German MP-40 machine gun on Wilson manufactured and registered receiver tube. Lower assembly manufactured by ERMA (ayf) in 1943. Non-matching barrel is original Haenel manufacture with bakelite resting bar. This gun is non-matching parts. Two original “43” dated and one post-war magazines are included with this lot along with an original loader, as well as a post-war leather sling. Soft-cover book “Blitzkrieg” by Frank Iannamico is also included. The MP-40 is an instantly recognizable German machine gun and is also one of the most popular machine guns to take to the range for the shooting enthusiast. Relatively slow firing, easy to control, comfortable, and utilizes readily available ammunition. Easily able to be field stripped and cleaned, it is one of the best entry level machine guns, and as a full-auto only machine gun it can be transferred into states such as Connecticut. Electronic NFA Registry indicates, "WILSON, JAMES DBA WILSON ARMS CO” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent as refinished upon remanufacture. Bakelite lower has a pleasing and sought-after reddish tint. Bore is very good with shiny lands. Bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp.
