Very nice matching except for bolt Steyr manufactured MP-40 with clear “WaA 623” markings on receiver tube forward of magazine housing, as well as on the matching barrel. The lower assembly markings are unique to this cataloger’s experience in that they are, “upside down” compared to all other such markings yet observed. The marking are very clear, factory applied markings, yet appear, “upside down” to the firer. Resting bar on this gun is a “pot metal” casting. One original 32 round magazine is included with this gun as well as an original leather sling. Electronic NFA registry indicates “GERMANY” as the manufacturer. CONDTION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent original finish with some loss of finish at the high edges to a gray patina. Bore is extremely fine, shiny and bright. Bolt face extremely fine. Bakelite lower and grips are near excellent with light handling marks. Mechanics are crisp. This is a full-auto only machine gun. A very attractive MP-40 for the collector who wants a gun which presents well, and with highly unusual lower cap markings. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO & RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2025-05-048.
