Carl Gustav M/45 Swedish K machine gun with matching numbered barrel shroud and receiver with Swedish crown proofs. Marked with importer marks on right side forward of magazine well. One green nylon sling and four 50 round “coffin” magazines in original brown leather carrier are included. This very effective and popular model was manufactured with a detachable magazine housing, which, once detached, as on this specimen, enables this gun to use the 50 round “coffin” magazines. On this specimen, the magazine housing has been detached and neither it, nor the fastening bar for it are present. The M-45 was developed during WW II, but final development and adoption was at the end of the war and hence, the end-product was manufactured under peace time conditions and therefore is of the highest quality fit and finish. Full-automatic only operation with slotted receiver tube cut-out for bolt to be held to the rear as on the MP-40, side-folding wire-loop shoulder brace with a rubber tubing to provide comfort to the firer much like the Madsen, and charging handle which doubles as a forward bolt lock in the manner of the Austen and other designs. Electronic NFA registry indicates “IMPORTED NFA FIREARM” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Extremely fine to near excellent reapplied green paint finish after addition of importer markings, “GUSTAF C SWEDEN M45” with tiny other marks on right side. Some handling marks on grips as well as on original rubber cheek protector on shoulder loop. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a fully automatic only machine gun. Leather of magazine pouches strong, supple, and serviceable. Magazines are extremely fine, original blue finish. The Swedish M/45 (Swedish K) was the standard sub machine gun for Sweden from 1945 to 1965, and it is much admired and sought after as a recreational machine gun here in the United States. Many Vietnam veterans encountered this gun for the first time while in military service and were much taken with its handling and shooting qualities. Not to mention the convenience of unscrewing the barrel retention collar to easily remove the barrel for cleaning. A fine specimen of one of the most sought after 9mm machine guns from the WWII era. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS TRANSFERABLE ONLY TO ACTIVE FFL/SOT DEALERS ON AN ATF FORM 3 BUT MAY BE RETAINED BY SOLE PROPRIETOR FFL/SOT HOLDERS WHEN THEY RELINQUISH THEIR LICENSES UPON BATF APPROVAL.
