German MP-40 machine gun on Wilson manufactured and registered receiver tube. Lower assembly manufactured by Steyr (bnz) in 1943. Barrel is original ERMA manufacture with matching numbered original resting bar. This gun has non-matching parts. The two original 1940 dated magazines included with this lot are very desirable slab-sided magazines. They are almost devoid of finish and exhibit a pleasing gray patina. There is a third, post-war, 32 round magazine also. The MP-40 needs little introduction as it has been so often seen in various films over the years. It was, and remains, the iconic and instantly recognizable German machine gun and is also one of the most popular machine guns to take to the range for the shooting enthusiast. Relatively slow firing, easy to control, comfortable, and utilizes readily available ammunition. This model also has the great benefit of being easy to field strip and clean. It is one of the best entry level machine guns, and as a full-auto only machine gun it can be transferred into States such as Connecticut. Electronic NFA Registry indicates, "WILSON, JAMES DBA WILSON ARMS CO” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent combination of original and refinish blue upon assembly. Bakelite furnishings and grips are extremely fine with some light handling marks. Bore is very good. Bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. A great machine gun for any WWII and/or shooting enthusiast. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4.
