Absolutely beautiful Fabrique Nationale F.A.L. G1 machine gun with wood buttstock and composite handguards. This configuration is exactly how the G1 was issued to West German Border Police. One 20 round magazine and an original leather sling are included with this lot. Tiny “IA” importer marking on lower side of receiver forward of magazine housing. The right side of receiver of this gun is marked with typical FN markings with “FN” logo above a star on the left side of the receiver. Notable features include a carrying handle, folding bipod, and long muzzle brake. The "Light Automatic Rifle" (French: Fusil Automatique Léger), has been marketed world-wide and was adopted by NATO forces in the Cold War era with great satisfaction and success. Electronic NFA Registry indicates “FN (HERSTAL)” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent original black and blued finish. The wood buttstock is absolutely beautiful, and the composite forend and pistol grip are near excellent. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. This is a highly effective full-power .308 battle rifle and is a top-quality rifle caliber machine gun of the highest order of reliability.
