Very high-quality Finnish manufactured Valmet Model 78 which is essentially a finer made and fitted version of the AK-47 platform. Manufactured prior to May 1986, we are fortunate to have some of these select fire machine guns in the National Firearms Act (NFA) registry. Firing at a rate of about 700-750 rounds per minute these guns are extremely fun to shoot in 5.56mm. This specimen is a fixed wooden stock version with bipod and muzzle brake, and includes two magazines, one steel and the other a durable plastic. Marked with typical factory markings on left side of receiver with "VALMET" in the left side, and "Odin International, Ltd" on the right hand side as the importer. Electronic NFA registry indicates "IMPORTED NFA FIREARM" as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent original smooth gray matte blue finish with some barely discernible handling marks. Bore is near excellent shiny and bright. Bolt face near excellent. Wood and composite furnishings near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. An extremely well-made machine gun which is also a very fun recreational shooter. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS TRANSFERABLE ONLY TO ACTIVE FFL/SOT DEALERS ON AN ATF FORM 3 BUT MAY BE RETAINED BY SOLE PROPRIETOR FFL/SOT HOLDERS WHEN THEY RELINQUISH THEIR LICENSES UPON BATF APPROVAL.
