This is a General Motors Saginaw Steering Gear manufactured model 1919A4 Browning air-cooled machine gun on a M2 tripod by “Evans Prod.Co.” with traverse and elevation mechanism and pintle. This gun has gone through government rebuild in the past by Anniston Army Depot (marked “AAS" and "AAD”) over refinish over some light pitting. Flaming bomb proof on top cover. Many WWII Browning machine guns underwent rebuild and refinish at army depots over the years as they remained in service through the Korean and Vietnam eras. Electronic NFA Registry indicates, “UNKNOWN” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall finish and appearance is near excellent gray parkerized refinish over some pitting upon rebuild with added government rebuild markings. Original manufacturer’s markings still very discernible. Bore is extremely fine with strong shiny rifling. Bolt face is extremely fine, unmarked on top. This is a full-auto only machine gun. A wonderful classic original Browning machine gun with a steady easy to transport tripod ready to take to the range. A true cut above the sideplate guns as a collector’s item. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2025-05-064.
