This is an eye-catching Auto Ordnance, West Hurley Model 1928 Thompson with a Bridgeport “U” proofed 50 round drum and two 30 round stick magazines (Seymour), a well-used WWII era horizontal forend, and older 33” long trunk case set-up to accommodate two 50 round drums. An original 1936 vintage Auto-Ordnance booklet is also included as well as a receipt indicating purchase of this gun in December 1984 (40 years ago!). Cutts compensator with solitary bullet logo on top. Electronic NFA registry indicates “AUTO ORDNANCE” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent dark lustrous blue refinish with plum color on the magazine release. Wood is extremely fine with a glossy refinish to the handgrip and buttstock. Horizontal forend is worn but serviceable. Drum has a coating of very old grease with excess in the recessed areas and remains in fine condition. Outer covering of hard case is starting to come off, and tan interior is somewhat soiled, but this desirable item remains serviceable. Bore of gun is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. A very nice specimen for the person who wants an example of the Iconic American machine gun.
