Very rare and desirable Lysaght Works Owen MK I machine gun. A very effective albeit unusual all Australian designed machine gun manufactured despite resistance and adversity generated by the Australian military. A very informative and detailed article about the development and this model is at https://www.forgottenweapons.com/submachine-guns/owen-smg/ -This specimen is the rarer Mark I version with wooden buttstock with visible matching numbers and # “9” rack number on the stock. Manufacturer’s markings on right side clearly indicate this is a 1943 produced gun. ATF Registration form shows, "Inter American Import Export Company” as the importer. Includes one original green painted 32 round Owen magazine. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is very fine original finish turned a pleasing smooth brown patina. Mechanics are fine. Bore is extremely fine to near excellent shiny and bright. Bolt face is very fine. This is a select fire machine gun. A fantastic opportunity for the discerning machine gun collector to acquire an extremely desirable rare machine gun in great original condition.
