Another Yugoslavian machine gun which adopted features from guns they were used to using. The Model 56 incorporates a tubular folding stock, folded metal trigger, and front sight hood which is very familiar to those who have seen a German MP-40. The magazine and top ejection port one can see was borrowed from the Russian PPSh-41 and PPS-43, and the receiver tube cap is reminiscent of the Beretta 38/43. It incorporates a simple and reliable push-through selector above and forward of the trigger, and a simple forward bolt lock which disengages when one depresses a tab at the front of the bolt handle. One 35 round magazine is included. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent original matte finish with assembly numbers on receiver and barrel, and attractive Yugoslavian crest at top of receiver. This is a registered receiver machine gun. Mechanics are crisp. Magazine extremely fine with some handling marks. Bore very fine, shiny and bright. Bolt very fine. This is a select-fire machine gun. An “improved” MP-40 incorporating a bayonet lug and the more powerful high velocity 7.62 x 25mm Russian pistol cartridge. Fun gun to shoot !!! THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS TRANSFERABLE ONLY TO ACTIVE FFL/SOT DEALERS ON AN ATF FORM 3 BUT MAY BE RETAINED BY SOLE PROPRIETOR FFL/SOT HOLDERS WHEN THEY RELINQUISH THEIR LICENSES UPON BATF APPROVAL. JWK 2019-10-60
