Another unusual casting form from the late 19th century, which consists of a monkey face with long hair dressed in a man's outfit, holding a huge cigar, which is in fact a flame for a lighter. There is a compartment in the back of the monkey's head where kerosene would be placed. These lighters would sit on the desk of the owner, with a perpetual flame in order to light their cigars. CONDITION: It shows a great aged patina, with great weight to the piece. It is all original, with no breaks, cracks or repairs. It retains the original lid to the monkey's head.
