IMPORTANT ROCOCO BELTER TYPE CARVED ROSEWOOD TURTLE TOP CENTER TABLE.Third quarter 19th century. An important example in the manner of John Henry Belter, with insert Carara marble top within a gadrooned shaped serpentine border above the conforming molded frieze carved with scrolling flowerheads, each corner with carved pineapple pendant finial (one missing), raised on a bulbous reeded pedestal ring-turned and gadrooned, the base with floral carved paterae, raised on four scrolling foliate-carved legs, each mounted with a carved pineapple finial, and raised on casters. SIZE: 30" h x 47-1/2" l x 33" w. CONDITION: Professionally refinished some time ago and restored. No damages noted. With rich brown color. 49421-11 jdj (12,000-18,000)
