INTERESTING ELABORATE PIERCED CARVED ARCHITECTURAL ELEMENT.19th century. Possibly the surround for a screen. The carving having a three dimensional aspect with white storks, animals and flowering vines. There are three large panels with a small box of parts. SIZE: Three panels are 68" h x 20" w. Parts are 16" h x 6" w and smaller. PROVENANCE: From the private collection of George Grey Barnard, Founder of the Cloisters. CONDITION: As found, with breaks, carving generally intact as to what is there. 49451-1 WAG (1,500-2,000)
