PAIR OF ERNST WAHLISS EWERS. TURN WIEN Pair of decorative ewers designed by Ernst Wahliss depict two art nouveau maidens with flowing gowns standing alongside the neck of the ewer with one hand grasping the lip of the ewer. The maidens are finished in a gold glaze while the ewers themselves are done in a green glaze with highlights in gold. Each ewer is marked on the underside with a crown mark "EW Turn Wien Made in Austria". SIZE: 13" t. PROVENANCE: From an Unreserved North Carolina estate. CONDITION: There is one minuscule flea bite to the glaze at the edge of one handle near the bottom, otherwise both are very good to excellent. 52746-19 DAB (1,200-1,800)
