Left side of frame marked "United States Property" Government inspector stamp on left side of frame behind trigger. Manufactured by Colt in 1918. Earlier short hammer. Unfinished heart shape opening under grips. Correct slide stop. Correct sights and grips. Correct two-tone clip with lanyard. CONDITION: Near excellent overall with approximately 75% original blue starting to thin. Grips show moderate wear. Action is tight and smooth. Bore is bright and clean. Overall a most presentable 1918 vintage U.S. 1911. -MKS-
